Admission notification in different types of courses in NIELIT Jorhat EC.

Updated Koha Version 3.20.07.000 and trying to customized it with the help of my senior Nilratan Bhattacharjee (Da).

Cataloguing has been done yesterday in Koha: 1130 books (67 title)

I have Installed KOHA 3.16 version in my library on 14th Dec, 2015.. and now I have updated it to Version 3.20.06.000, and its working nicely.

Today I have started classification with the help of (http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/).. most of the titles are available here...

About NIELIT Jorhat EC

In April’2012, the union cabinet has approved a project of the Dept. of Electronics & Information Tecnology (DeitY), Govt. of India, “Development of the North Eastern Region by enhancing Training/ Education capacity in the IECT Area”.Under which 6 (six) existing NIELITs of the NE region located at Imphal, Aizawl, Guwahati, Shillong, Gangtok, Itanagar were to be upgraded as NIELITs with own campus and also create/upgrade 12 (twelve) Extensions Centres in the entire NE region in order to increase training capacity of the NIELITs in the NE region from existing 3,080 to 14,400 per annum at the end of 5(five) years. Of the 12 (twelve) Extension Centres, 5 (five) were to be commissioned in Assam at locations Tezpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar and Silchar under NIELIT Guwahati. As a consequence, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Jorhat Extension Centre is  one of the presently prevailed four extension Centres of NIELIT  Guwahati(formerly DOEACC Society),which is an autonomous scientific society under the Deptt. of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India. 

The NIELIT Jorhat Extension Centre was established and is operational since August’2013 in rented premise located at 1st Floor of ISBT in the Knowledge City Jorhat of Assam ,which is also cultural hub of Assam. NIELIT Jorhat Extension Centre whose mandate is to  provide up-to-date industry relevant training programs in the areas of Information, Electronics and Communication Technology (IECT) in the non-formal sector, will start operating from it’s own permanent campus in land provided by the Govt. of Assam in Roroia,Jorhat in near future.With state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipments, Jorhat Extension Centre of NIELIT-Guwahati is one of the most renowned training centres in the whole of upper Assam.

About NIELIT Library Jorhat EC

The library has a good collection of 1130 books, the library also subscribes magazines and daily newspapers. The library has 9 number of book shelves along with 3 almirahs, 2 numbers of study table with 10 numbers of chairs for students and staff members and one computer is for assistant librarian. Mr. Anupam Chanda is the Assistant Librarian of this library, he is the one and only library staff in this library who manages all the activities related to this library. On 14 December, 2015 he has installed KOHA (Version 3.16.05.001) Library Management Software in this library, and now its working on LAN also. At present this software is installed just for experimental purpose.
